August 7, 2009 – Several peace gatherings are being convened with common call for the resumption of the year-long stalled peace negotiations between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) that would peacefully end the centuries-old armed conflict in Mindanao through negotiated political resolution.
Ustaz Nhorul-am Abdullah, Head of Secretariat for the religious assembly to be held next week in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, in an interview by Luwaran.Com/Net, had called on both GRP and MILF to pave the way for the early resumption of the stalled peace negotiations that will usher in soonest time a comprehensive compact.
